From Cedar to James Hardie Fiber Cement!

Woodpeckers can really enjoy poking holes into cedar siding, and the constant replacement/painting and patching can pane exhausting and expensive.

New James Hardie Fiber Cement siding does not have those issues.

This West Chester home looks like new construction after this gorgeous IRON GREY #irongreyhardie cedar mill lap@siding was paired with Arctic White vertical board and batten siding at the gables.

All new crisp white azek window trim, corner posts, gutters, downspouts, soffit, fascia, and rake board capping give the house that modern clean feel.

Mold, Rot and Carpenter Ants, Oh My!

Stucco is a fantastic exterior cladding for any masonry wall, unfortunately most houses are built with wood (not concrete).

This causes water to become trapped, and special attention should have been paid where ever a window, door, light mount, patio etc. was installed on a stucco home.

Most stucco houses are not properly flashed in these areas. What happens is the water will@find its way around these areas, and wreak havoc on the wood, eventually infiltrating the drywall in your home.

This house was no different and was one of our worst houses to date.

We had to pull up the rear patio pavers to expose rotten lumber at the foundation, replace not just plywood but insulation and framing around windows and doors AND make sure to get rid of carpenter ants that we’re enjoying the soft wood in these areas.

Once we fixed the issues, we wrapped the walls with drainable synthetic house wrap and flashed
All the windows and doors with butyl tape and aluminum.

With #jameshardiesiding in Cobblestone color, cedar mill finish, we were able to bring this house to a new beginning.

#boardandbatten was installed above the garage gable for added beauty. New 6” gutters and spouts and gutter guards will protect the foundation and basement. New shutters bring it all together.

Another stucco remediation project complete!

This Newtown Square home was a total remake as the stucco and stone and deck were not installed properly, causing rotten plywood and framing galore.

Not to fear, Martin Exteriors can handle all projects Large and Small!

#jameshardie Arctic White lap siding in cedar mill finish was the main addition where the stucco was removed. We installed #boardandbatten #jameshardie siding at front garage gable and rear gables to give the home some style points.

All new 6K seamless gutters and downspouts will help manage those heavy rainfalls.

A custom copper roof and fox weather vane cupola gives this home the cherry on top for another successful project.

We uncovered that the deck steps were not safely secured to the deck and could have been a disaster if too much weight was on them, so we removed the deck steps, replaced rotten stringers and reinstalled the steps properly with hurricane ties for security.

Lastly, the most used side entrance was overgrown and choppy, so we pulled it all out, install another set of concrete steps, and added maintenance free flagstone for beauty and safety!

This West Chester home just leveled up BIG TIME! We did not build the addition or garage but we installed all of the exterior!

Outdoor living!

This Wayne, Pa homeowner wanted an outdoor living area to enjoy the weather, entertain, watch the game and enjoy a fire. Martin Exterior Remodeling to the rescue!

We excavated the existing patio to make way for the natural veneer patio installation.

A large custom sized fireplace was built and then clad with faux veneer stone to match the front of the house.

Next we installed a beautiful pergola to the patio and custom installed to the fireplace.

Last but not least we electrified the fireplace and hung a gorgeous exterior all weather tv for all those big games (and Disney+ of course!)

Pearl Grey Stucco Remediation!

Deck Boards and Painting!

This wooden deck was fine for our Devon,Pa customer …. Until they had children! Scraping and painting the deckboards was a chore that parents just struggle to find to do with newborns. Plus, little crawling children get splinters galore@on these old wooden decks.

Stone and Stucco and Painting= New House!

Improper stucco and stone installation caused this homeowner to make a tough decision: bandaid it or rip it off and start fresh. As you can see they chose the latter!

Many times in a stucco exterior home, the worst areas of rotten plywood and framing occur at the chimney, this house was no exception.

After remediating the stucco we were able to fix the rotten wood and wrap/flash the siding to eliminate any further water issues down the road.

Pacific Blue to the rescue!

When this customer experienced some wind damage to their home’s vinyl siding, it was an opportunity to upgrade!

The goal of the project wasn’t only to upgrade the look but to stop drafts they had been experiencing inside.

Once the house was stripped, we realized there were large gaps in between the exterior insulation boards. We filled those with polystyrene insulation, taped all those gaps as well and then installed tyvek house wrap.

#certaineed Monogram 5” clapboard in Pacific Blue color gave the house a whole new look!

With new aluminum capping on windows and new shutters, these homeowners couldn’t be happier!

Custom Painting James Hardie!

This West Chester home was always known as the “Red House” with its beautiful red cedar siding but unfortunately the last time it had been painted was done incorrectly and the paint wasn’t holding. Plus the cedar siding was falling down in areas and the repair costs were expensive!

Martin Exterior Remodeling to the rescue!

With all of the cedar siding removed, we were able to wrap the walls with drainable synthetic house wrap and seal and tape all seams around windows and doors.

The homeowner had a vision to continue the Red color on their home but the color wasn’t available through James Hardie.

Hole-In-One!

Stucco strikes again as this gorgeous clubhouse/restaurant/hotel in Malvern was rotting away from the stucco suffocating the framing and plywood. It was time for a Mulligan!

We removed all the failing stucco in this building and wanted to continue to keep the old time charm while bringing a modern touch to the building.

Barn Roof!!

No roof is too big! This gorgeous barn in Berwyn was in need of serious repairs so we stripped the shingles down and found a significant amount of cedar shingles.

Once those were removed we started fresh with new plywood and a #certainteedroofing product we love :landmark pro moire black color!

Composite Siding Renovation!

Restore That Deck!

This Glen Mills Deck was looking like a $75,000 complete removal and install new PVC decking/railing at first glance.

But after a strong power wash, it was apparent there was life in this old wood! Replacing the worst and applying bondo to larger holes was needed.
